It's witchcraft

Today I have been chilling out, watching Christmas TV while doing some needlework.

The Simpsons was on and it was one where Bart got involved with some gangsters. They bought him a little zoot suit, so he put it on, gelled his hair and started crooning, 'it's witchcraft' just like Frank Sinatra.

Which reminded me of this clip, featuring Elvis and Frankie. It's a long one, but really funny when they start bantering. OK you have to make your way through two Elvis songs first, but consider that a Christmas bonus treat for the eyes and ears. Enjoy! :)

Boxing Day

It's tradition to go for a walk on Boxing Day. Can feel like hard work to begin with, but always a good idea in the end. Sometimes you have to run just so you can feel your toes.

My very own yule log

Here it is!

I asked the man of the house what he thought of it. He said it wasn't as bad as he had expected it to be.

High praise indeed. I am trying not to let it go to my head. But it's difficult when you're dancing on air. :)'

Jostling for position

It's started already, the annual competition. Who will get to pull the sleigh for Santa?

I think I have an inkling which one it is going to be...

When you wish upon a star

I think this is the perfect song for today! The wonderful voice of Louis Armstrong.

I love the video with the pictures taken from Walt Disney's film Pinnochio. That cat really makes me chuckle.

I collect old records for their covers. This one's a corker.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Every now and then I just like to sing this line out loud.

I don't know the rest of the song, but in any case, that bit pretty much sums things up at freckleface HQ.

My boyfriend was worried I was going a bit over the top with the decorations but actually I don't think there is enough, so I am forced out into the cold on foraging trips for more tinsel and emergency baubles.

Favourite Christmas cards so far, from my friends at Eloise R and Pango Productions.

I still have to make my yule log!

Cardy Christmas part 3

Last but not least, my old friend Courgette cards. We worked out that we have known each other for nearly 30 years...it was fun when he decided to do cards too.

These cards are really retro and kitsch, both of which are good things in my book.

Cardy Christmas part 2

Next up we have the brilliant design work of The Strawberry Card Company.

Lovely colour palettes with bright modern imagery. I always think she makes it look so easy.

Cardy Christmas part 1

I met up with some fellow publishers on my way through Bristol the other day. It is probably my favourite bit of the whole job, being friends with other like-minded people. It is always an inspiration to catch up and share ideas and thoughts.

Here we have Mark Courgette, Helen Cardtastic and Sian Strawberry. I have only just started using first names. Up until quite recently I just knew them as Courgette, Strawberry and Cardtastic. Everyone is known by their company name. I like it :)

So I thought this would be a good opportunity to showcase some of the wonderful work my greeting card friends produce. First up, here is cardtastic. Beautiful simple photographs, elegantly presented.
